Jan 08, 2010 · Insulating the flue is not commonly done. They do make double-wall pipe that would reduce the temp of the outside pipe wall. What is your concern here? If you worry that the hot flue pipe is wasting energy, that is not the case. Or, are you concerned that the boiler room or surrounding spaces get too warm? Upvote. Mike Speed 30.
