Jan 10, 2010 · My water jacket on my wood boiler has a 1 inch crack in it. It is in the inside of the fire box and is not accesable with any tools. I can see it with a mirror but can't get at it. It is hair line in size but steadily leaks. The boiler is one piece approximately 10000 lbs so moving it is major. Any ideas on some kind of sealer or other cure?

Dec 19, 2019 · Stop drill the end of the crack, clean the interior surface really good and put a layer of insulating refractory on it. Then forget about it. Then I'd suggest saying 15 year warranty or limited lifetime instead of leaving it open to someone believing the literal meaning.

Dec 17, 2019 · What I may do is find the end of the crack line and drill a small hole there. I can try to slow further damage maybe. Then plug that hole with some furnace cement. Drilling like that normally is the best thing you can do to try to stop it from continuing. Looks like the inside of the new style door has a standoff panel.
